Facebook Likes changes
Facebook is changing how it calculates Likes for businesses, according to a recent blog post it will no longer count Likes from memorialised Facebook accounts or people who have deactivated their accounts. What this means for you, is potentially there could be a dip in the number of Likes on your page. And on the plus side, you know that your audience is actively interested in your page and can engage with it. If someone that has deactivated their account reactivates it, the Like will be added back to your page.
Get your Instagram account
It's set to be huge, so even if you aren’t planning on using Instagram in the near future download the app now and secure your business username so others can’t claim it.
New LinkedIn features
LinkedIn has recently added some new features when they adapted the look and feel of your home page and profile page. One of these is being able to specify and move media around different areas of your profile, the other is the increase in the number of providers who you can embed media from. Not only can you choose Male, or Female in Facebook settings to identify yourself, there is now a custom field. Facebook have said they “recognise some people face challenges in sharing their true gender, and this setting gives them the ability to express themselves in an authentic way”.

A recent study states that one quarter of the world’s population uses social media, which means 1,730,000,000 people are posting, pinning, tweeting, instagramming.
