Company pages are a great way to extend your business reach, build your reputation and grow your sphere of influence. People can choose to follow your business, and they do not need to be a connection to do so.
Consider these seven tips to generate leads for your page:
Get creative with your updates
When writing an update think about what your audience wants, and how you can provide this. Be interesting, add value, provide resources, create opportunities to connect and grow. Ensure there is a call to action.
Multi link between social media channels
If what you are saying is ground breaking, useful or purposeful, or helpful, funny, engaging, or interesting, share it across your social networks. Don’t forget to tweak the message for each audience you have. For example, when writing a blog post for your website/blog, share this back on your LinkedIn company page. Write a few lines about the key point, and then put in the link to the remainder of the blog post.
Share the message on your personal profile
If you are sole owner/operator, share your business updates to your personal networks. Encourage your employees to share your business updates also. The reach of your employees will be more extensive than your company reach when just starting out, so make use of this channel.
Be active and engage
Ask questions, seek responses, and reply to responses from your connections on your company page. Engage with businesses you would like to work with / for; comment on their updates, like and share them with your followers. These businesses may also return the favour to you.
Complete your company page fully
Ensure you have completed all the sections, added multimedia to your company page, such as images, videos, hyperlinks, listed your speciality areas, included your location.
Build your audience
When you start out you need to follow a process to continually grow your followers, they won’t just happen on their own:
- Ask employees to link up with your page
- Follow company pages of current customers, prospective customers, and suppliers (many will reciprocate)
- Put a link in your email signature, on your website
- Send a call to action to your personal LinkedIn connections – include the benefits of why they should follow your page, what they will receive from following, and why it can be of use to them
- Send out an electronic newsletter or email and have a call to action in that
- Post in relevant LinkedIn groups with a request to follow your company page.
Track your insights
As with all marketing efforts, set targets and check to see if you have achieved these. LinkedIn company pages have analytics that you can view.
