A new event has been added to the Hawke’s Bay events calendar this year as part of the Blossom Festival and it’s a ride that looks set to grow every year – proceeds from the cycle through Hawke’s Bay spring blossoms will be used to plant more trees to enjoy along the route. Entries are being called for a Hastings Blossom Queen for the first time in 40 years. The winner will be crowned at a Blossom Festival 1950s rock 'n' roll hop on Saturday 7 September. The winning float in each of these caterories is up to win $2000 with a trophy for the supreme winner.
